Blockchain entrepreneur Justin Sun has invested $30 million in World Liberty Financial (WLF), a new initiative supported by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
Sharing the news on social media, Sun highlighted his role as the project’s largest investor and expressed excitement about its potential. WLF aims to combine blockchain technology with traditional finance, though specifics about its services remain scarce. The project has drawn attention largely due to its association with Trump.
Earlier this year, WLF launched Know Your Customer (KYC) verification for its upcoming WLFI governance token sale, targeting accredited U.S. investors and eligible participants worldwide.
Legal Troubles Surrounding Sun
Sun’s bold move comes amid ongoing legal battles with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC accuses him of securities violations, market manipulation, and fraudulent practices related to Tronix (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT).
Despite these allegations, Sun has continued making high-profile investments and acquisitions, showcasing his resilience and confidence in the blockchain sector.
Extravagant Investments
Known for his flashy purchases, Sun recently bought Maurizio Cattelan’s viral artwork “Comedian”,a banana taped to a wall, for $6.24 million at Sotheby’s. Sun described the piece as a
“Cultural symbol blending art, memes, and tech innovation.”
This latest investment underscores Sun’s ongoing efforts to expand his influence across blockchain and traditional finance.
