Institutional Demand Could Push Bitcoin Higher
ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood believes Bitcoin still has massive upside ahead, raising her long-term price target to as high as $1.25 million over the next five years.
Speaking during a recent interview, Wood said institutional adoption remains the biggest driver behind Bitcoin’s future growth. She also shared a more conservative scenario, predicting BTC could still reach around $750,000 during the next market cycle.
“We do think there is an asset allocation shift beginning towards Bitcoin and other crypto assets,”
Wood said, pointing to growing interest from major financial institutions.
Why Cathie Wood Is Still Bullish on Bitcoin
According to Wood, Bitcoin is increasingly being viewed as a new financial asset class rather than just a speculative trade. She expects demand to grow as traditional investors continue exploring crypto exposure.
Wood also argued that younger generations are more likely to choose Bitcoin over gold as a long-term store of value. At the same time, she sees BTC gaining traction in emerging economies where people look for protection against inflation, currency instability, and political uncertainty.

The latest forecast comes as ties between traditional finance and the crypto industry continue to deepen, with tokenization and institutional crypto products expanding rapidly.
Bitcoin Faces Short-Term Pressure
Despite the optimistic outlook, Bitcoin has struggled to regain momentum in recent sessions. BTC remains stuck below the $80,000 level as investors react to macroeconomic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and concerns surrounding future Federal Reserve policy decisions.
Market sentiment has also been impacted by ETF outflows and broader risk-off conditions across global markets.
Still, Wood is far from alone in predicting a seven-figure Bitcoin price. Other well-known crypto bulls, including Robert Kiyosaki, Arthur Hayes, and Brian Armstrong, have also suggested Bitcoin could eventually break above the $1 million mark.
