Vitalik Wants X to Play a Bigger Role in AI
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin believes X could become much more than a social media platform. In a recent post, he suggested Elon Musk transform X into a place where people around the world can help shape the future of artificial intelligence.
According to Vitalik, X could be the best place for ordinary people to influence important AI decisions, rather than leaving those choices entirely to governments, large AI companies, or powerful institutions.

Vitalik proposed creating a system where predefined “pause triggers” could temporarily slow AI development if certain high-risk scenarios emerge. These could include events such as massive job displacement, dangerous autonomous weapons, or other major global threats.
He argued that having clear rules in place before such situations arise would make AI governance more transparent and easier to coordinate internationally.

Vitalik also suggested that blockchain technology could support this vision. Tools like decentralized governance, prediction markets, and zero-knowledge proofs could help improve transparency and public participation in AI-related decision-making.
