Grayscale Moves Toward Quarterly ETH and SOL Staking Payouts
The proposed changes would allow the Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF (ETHE) and Grayscale Solana Staking ETF (GSOL) to sell the ETH and SOL earned through staking and distribute the proceeds directly to shareholders.
Grayscale staking payouts could arrive quarterly
Under the proposed amendments, both funds would be able to make cash distributions at least once every three months. The amount paid to investors would depend on the staking rewards generated by each fund, as well as fees, expenses and other market conditions.

Grayscale has not promised a fixed yield or guaranteed payout amount.
The move follows an earlier distribution from ETHE, which paid out approximately $9.39 million to shareholders from Ethereum staking rewards. The new structure could provide investors with a more direct way to benefit from staking income without needing to stake ETH or SOL themselves.
The proposed changes are expected to take effect around August 7, 2026, although the exact timing and size of the first payouts have not yet been confirmed.
If approved, the plans would give investors exposure to ETH and SOL staking rewards through regulated investment products while adding a potential income component to the funds.
