Bitcoin could be setting up for a massive rally in the final quarter of 2025, with some projections pointing to prices reaching as high as $200,000 if current momentum holds.
Recent on-chain data from firm CryptoQuant shows a sharp increase in spot demand since midsummer, with monthly net inflows averaging over 62,000 BTC. Historically, similar buying patterns have often preceded major fourth-quarter rallies, including the strong bull runs seen in 2020, 2021, and 2024.
Large holders, commonly referred to as whales, are also back in accumulation mode, scooping up Bitcoin at an annualized pace of 331,000 BTC, well above last year’s rate. At the same time, U.S.-listed Bitcoin ETFs, which absorbed more than 200,000 BTC in late 2024, are expected to post similar inflows this year.
Another positive sign is the break above the realized price level of around $116,000, with Bitcoin trading near $118,000 at the time of writing. Analysts note that this shift often marks the return of a bull phase, potentially opening the door to a range of $160,000 to $200,000 before year-end.
Market optimism is also supported by expanding stablecoin liquidity and reduced unrealized profits among traders, conditions that typically ease selling pressure. Several firms, including Standard Chartered, 21Shares, and Bitwise, share the view that Bitcoin could cross the $200,000 mark before the year ends.
Looking further out, Standard Chartered has gone even bigger, forecasting that Bitcoin could approach $500,000 by 2028 as adoption broadens and volatility stabilizes.
