Bitcoin may be gearing up for a massive rally, with a leading global bank forecasting the price to reach $135,000 in Q3 and potentially $200,000 by December 2025.
Geoff Kendrick, head of digital assets at Standard Chartered, shared his outlook, suggesting the asset’s recent momentum, combined with a wave of institutional interest, could push it to new heights before the year is over.
According to Kendrick, the market is no longer following its usual post-halving patterns. Historically, Bitcoin tends to cool off about 18 months after each halving. But this time might be different.
“Thanks to increased investor flows, we believe BTC has moved beyond the previous dynamic whereby prices fell 18 months after a ‘halving’ cycle,”
he said.
The bank’s bullish stance is underpinned by growing corporate and institutional participation, particularly through ETFs and treasury acquisitions. Recent buying activity from major firms supports this view, with over 6,000 BTC reportedly added to company reserves in just the past week.

As of now, Bitcoin is trading around $109,680, showing modest gains over the past 24 hours and slight growth over the past month. While volatility remains part of the equation, Standard Chartered appears confident that the broader trend still points up.

With a target of $200K by Q4, Kendrick’s forecast would mark a major milestone for the market—if it plays out.
