Bitcoin Market Stalls as Long-Term Holders Take Charge

The Bitcoin market seems to have hit a standstill lately, with both supply and demand slowing down. Traders and investors appear to be in a holding pattern, waiting for the next big move.

Long-Term Holders Are in Control

One of the key factors driving this stagnation is the dominance of long-term holders. Right now, this group holds around 12.6 million BTC, and data shows their positions have been quite stable. They’re not making many moves, which signals a lack of significant activity in the market overall.

The #Bitcoin market is currently experiencing a period of stagnation, with both demand and supply sides showing signs of inactivity. The market is characterized by minimal capital inflows and outflows, as the stagnant Realized Cap indicates.

Low Inflows Into Exchanges

On the supply side, Bitcoin inflows into spot exchanges have remained low. A lot of people are waiting to see what the Federal Reserve’s upcoming interest rate decision will bring. The uncertainty has led to less action on exchanges, with traders holding off for the moment.

Short-Term Holders at 2012 Levels

Short-term holders are feeling the pinch too. Their supply has dropped to levels we haven’t seen since 2012, as their Bitcoin shifts into the hands of long-term holders. This could indicate that people who usually trade more frequently are starting to adopt a longer-term view of the market.

Institutional Players Still Active

Even though the market feels quiet, some institutional players are still making big moves. Ceffu, for example, just deposited 1,347 BTC (worth about $81.25 million) into Binance. Over the past three months, Ceffu has transferred 16,123 BTC to Binance, valued at around $952 million, with an average price of $59,043. This shows that while the broader market is quiet, institutions are still active.

Potential Liquidation if Bitcoin Breaks $61K

If Bitcoin’s price jumps to $61,498, things could get interesting. We might see about $179.70 million in liquidations in the futures market, which could stir things up. This could cause some rapid price movement, especially if it triggers a wave of buying or selling.

On September 17, the total net inflow of Bitcoin spot ETFs was $187 million, and the net inflow continued for 4 consecutive days. Grayscale ETF GBTC outflow was $0.00. Fidelity ETF FBTC inflow was $56.6121 million. Bitwise ETF BITB inflow was $45.3528 million.…

ETFs See Steady Inflows

Meanwhile, Bitcoin spot ETFs are having a good run. On September 17, they saw net inflows of $187 million, marking the fourth straight day of positive inflows. Fidelity’s ETF (FBTC) brought in $56.6 million, and Bitwise’s ETF (BITB) saw $45.35 million in inflows. Grayscale’s GBTC remained steady with no outflows, showing that institutional interest in Bitcoin is still solid.

What’s Next for Bitcoin?

For now, the Bitcoin market remains quiet, with long-term holders and institutional investors leading the way. However, this calm might not last long. The upcoming Federal Reserve decision, potential liquidations, and continued ETF inflows suggest that the market could be gearing up for a shift. Keep an eye on it—things could get exciting soon.
