DBS Bank has introduced DBS Token Services, a new solution integrating tokenization and smart contract capabilities into its banking operations to enhance efficiency and streamline processes for institutional clients.
The service connects the bank’s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible permissioned blockchain with its payment engine, enabling real-time, 24/7 settlements. This integration also supports instant transactions across multiple industry payment networks. Using smart contracts, DBS offers greater security and transparency by allowing institutions to control fund flows based on predefined conditions.
Blockchain-Driven Solutions: Treasury Tokens and Conditional Payments
The bank emphasizes maintaining full control and compliance through a permissioned blockchain, addressing concerns around data security and regulatory requirements. The new offering includes Treasury Tokens, Conditional Payments, and Programmable Rewards, highlighting how financial institutions can adopt blockchain to deliver better client experiences.
Driving Institutional Growth with Tokenization and Liquidity Tools
DBS aims to help corporate and public sector clients transition to on-demand digital services by optimizing liquidity and improving operational efficiency. In August, the bank partnered with Ant International to launch a blockchain-based liquidity management solution and announced plans to introduce OTC crypto options trading and structured notes for institutional clients.
