A long-dormant Bitcoin whale has returned to the market after eight years of inactivity, transferring 400 BTC, now valued at approximately $34.9 million, to the OKX exchange. Based on historical blockchain data, the coins were originally acquired for close to $4 million, leaving the holder with an estimated profit of $30.4 million.
The wallet initially received two inflows of 200 Bitcoin each nearly a decade ago and remained untouched until this recent transaction. While a transfer to an exchange does not automatically confirm a sell-off, such moves often suggest preparation for trading or liquidity, particularly when profits of this size are involved.

This reactivation comes amid a broader trend of dormant Bitcoin whale wallets showing signs of life. In recent days, another wallet inactive for nearly three years moved 200 BTC, worth around $18.5 million, to Binance. At the same time, a separate large holder withdrew 171 Bitcoin from the same exchange, pointing to mixed strategies among major investors.
Since early December, large Bitcoin holders have reportedly distributed roughly 36,500 BTC, valued at more than $3.3 billion, highlighting how whale activity continues to play a major role in shaping short-term Bitcoin market sentiment.
