Institutional Interest Tilts Toward Ethereum
Ethereum-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have now seen consistent capital inflows for ten straight trading sessions. Much of the recent demand is being driven by growing speculation around staking being added to these financial instruments, making them potentially more appealing to long-term holders.
One standout performer is BlackRock’s Ethereum-focused fund, which added over $70 million on Friday alone. Since its launch, it has amassed over $4.6 billion in total inflows — signaling a strong shift in sentiment.

The rising price of Ethereum is also helping. With ETH up around 40% in the past month, appetite for exposure through regulated vehicles like ETFs is increasing. The price per share of BlackRock’s fund has climbed in tandem, now sitting just under $20.
Notably, BlackRock recently updated a key regulatory filing for its Ethereum ETF to include in-kind redemptions — a change that could make the product more efficient and appealing. Other firms are also pushing for staking to be formally added, including RexShares, which just filed a proposal to that effect with regulators.
Despite the excitement, some on-chain analysts note that these ETF inflows still account for a tiny portion of Ethereum’s total daily trading volume — less than 1.5%, suggesting the price impact may be limited for now. Ethereum supply on exchanges has dropped to a record low, adding to the growing bullish sentiment.
Bitcoin ETF Outflows Raise Eyebrows
While Ethereum enjoys inflows, the story is quite different for Bitcoin. In just two days, spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen over $600 million in net outflows, with BlackRock’s flagship Bitcoin fund alone losing nearly $430 million on Friday. ARK Invest’s fund also saw over $120 million exit the door.
These recent withdrawals come on the heels of a month-long buying spree, which saw over $44 billion pour into Bitcoin ETFs. That frenzy helped drive BTC’s price above $111K. But the recent dip and outflows could hint at a short-term sentiment shift or profit-taking by large holders.
