The OM token saw a massive shake-up recently, catching the attention of the crypto community. Within a single day, its value plummeted by more than 80%, sparking concern and plenty of questions about what actually went down.
In response, the team behind the project stepped forward to clarify the situation. They chalked up the crash to what they described as
“Reckless Liquidations,”
distancing themselves from any intentional sell-off or internal mismanagement. A deeper explanation is expected soon, according to their posts.
Co-founder John Patrick Mullin shared some insight on X, noting that a large investor faced a significant forced liquidation on a centralized exchange. While he didn’t mention the platform by name, he was quick to reassure that the team’s tokens remain untouched and even provided a wallet address for transparency.
Adding to the confusion were rumors about the project’s Telegram channel disappearing. Mullin pushed back, saying it hadn’t been deleted and emphasized that the team was still present and actively looking into the causes of the sudden drop.

Despite the clarification, skepticism lingers among some users. A wallet linked to the project allegedly moved millions of tokens to an exchange just before the price nosedived, which many in the space see as suspicious timing. Some are comparing the event to previous high-profile collapses.
Data from blockchain sleuths also revealed multiple wallets moving tens of millions in tokens to various platforms during the turmoil, amounting to a sizable portion of the circulating supply.
The token did manage to claw back above $1 following the team’s public response, but trust is clearly shaken. Add to that broader market uncertainty tied to geopolitical tensions and recent policy shifts in the U.S., and it’s easy to see why traders are on edge.
As for Mantra, whether it recovers or remains under scrutiny may depend on how the team handles things in the days ahead.
