Mastercard has joined forces with Bitget Wallet and Immersve to launch a new crypto card in the UK and EU, aimed at making it easier to use digital assets for everyday purchases.
As part of the rollout, users will be able to spend crypto at over 150 million locations worldwide — anywhere Mastercard is accepted — straight from their self-custodied wallets. The card supports USDC and offers perks like instant approval, no top-up fees, and even rewards for verified users.
Scott Abrahams, EVP of Global Partnerships at Mastercard, put it simply:
“Digital wallets are quickly becoming as ubiquitous as email addresses.”
He added that making crypto payments easy and safe is
“a critical step in bringing digital assets closer to mainstream utility.”
The new card is already available via the Bitget Wallet app, with plans to expand beyond Europe soon. Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand are next on the list. Real-time crypto-to-fiat conversions allow users to tap and pay seamlessly while keeping full control over their assets.
Bitget Wallet’s CMO, Jamie Elkaleh, said:
“Crypto payments should be as seamless and secure as traditional transactions.”
According to him, demand for real-world crypto use is growing fast, and this card is one way to meet that need.
Immersve, which helped build the backend infrastructure, plays a key role in this launch. Its system allows on-chain settlements that meet Mastercard’s regulatory standards, including KYC and AML compliance.
“We’re … allowing users to spend crypto as easily as they spend fiat—on a global scale,”
added Immersve CEO Jerome Faury.
The new product was introduced at the Ethereum Community Conference, and it fits into a broader effort to turn digital wallets into powerful financial tools, not just storage for assets.
As crypto continues evolving, collaborations like this bring it one step closer to becoming a real part of daily life — not just something you HODL, but something you actually use.
