PostFinance Introduces Ethereum Staking for Passive Income

PostFinance, a state-owned Swiss bank, has expanded its digital asset services by launching Ethereum (ETH) staking. This new feature allows customers to earn passive income directly through the bank’s mobile app and e-finance platform.

Starting January 16, 2025, users can stake a minimum of 0.1 ETH, with rewards automatically credited to their accounts. Staked assets are locked for a minimum of 12 weeks, providing a straightforward way for customers to participate in Ethereum’s staking process without technical hurdles.

Seamless Staking with Sygnum Bank Partnership

This initiative is part of PostFinance’s collaboration with digital asset leader Sygnum Bank. The partnership aims to simplify staking for clients by integrating blockchain-based services into the bank’s offerings. Customers can track staking rewards in real time via the platform, enhancing transparency and user experience.

Currently focused on Ethereum, the bank plans to expand its staking options to include other digital assets in the near future. This move highlights PostFinance’s commitment to providing innovative financial products and enabling customers to diversify their portfolios.

Switzerland’s Evolving Crypto Stance

PostFinance’s push into digital assets aligns with the broader integration of cryptocurrencies into traditional banking. Meanwhile, Switzerland is exploring adding Bitcoin to its national reserves alongside gold. While this move signals a growing acknowledgment of crypto’s potential, concerns over Bitcoin’s volatility and energy consumption remain significant factors in the decision-making process.

This development marks another step in bridging the gap between crypto and traditional finance, reflecting the increasing demand for blockchain-powered financial solutions.
