Garlinghouse Highlights XRP’s Core Strengths
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently weighed in on what makes XRP different from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the rest of the crypto market, as institutional interest continues to build.
In a recent “Crypto in a Minute” discussion, he pointed out that XRP was designed with payments in mind from the start. According to him, that focus is what separates it from many early crypto projects that took a different direction over time.
Garlinghouse also emphasized XRP’s performance, highlighting near-instant settlement times of just a few seconds and extremely low transaction costs, often fractions of a cent. He added that the XRP Ledger has already processed billions of transactions, reinforcing its use as a payments network rather than just a store of value.

He also credited long-term supporters of the ecosystem, often referred to as the “XRP community,” for staying engaged through market cycles and regulatory uncertainty.

Traditional Finance Pushes Deeper Into Crypto
Garlinghouse also joined a broader industry discussion alongside major exchange and foundation leaders, where the focus was less on hype and more on real infrastructure.
His main point: the current phase of crypto adoption is being driven by institutions building actual financial rails, not speculation. He noted that traditional finance players are increasingly exploring blockchain-based settlement, tokenization, and digital payment systems.
He also suggested that regulatory progress is becoming a key catalyst, with ongoing policy discussions in the US seen as a step toward clearer market structure.
