Ricardo Salinas, one of Mexico’s most outspoken entrepreneurs and a fierce critic of fiat currency, is once again calling for a financial reality check—this time telling people to reconsider their trust in real estate and instead pivot to Bitcoin.
In a recent episode of Robert Breedlove’s What is Money? podcast, Salinas didn’t hold back. Known for his unfiltered views, the billionaire suggested that people should rethink what they consider an “investment,” arguing that homes can always be rebuilt—but Bitcoin’s supply is set in stone.
“My solution is you have a house. If you think that’s your investment, sell the house and buy Bitcoin. Because you can always make more houses. Bitcoin, you can’t make any more.”
He acknowledged that a house makes sense to live in, but challenged the notion of it being a long-term wealth vehicle. Unlike real estate, he said, Bitcoin offers unique advantages: it’s scarce, portable, and immune to central bank manipulation.
Salinas, who heads Grupo Salinas and owns major assets across media and finance, compared fiat money to a slow-motion heist—engineered by governments and central banks. Inflation, he says, is just a polite way of stealing from citizens.
“This fiat thing, which is a direct consequence of Keynesian economics, has to be put to death, you know, like the spike of the vampire with a silver bullet through the heart.”
This isn’t his first warning. Last month, he made similar comments, blasting fiat currencies as “fake money” and describing inflation as a form of stealth confiscation. His personal history growing up in Mexico during a period of hyperinflation has shaped much of his economic worldview.
“Fiat money is a fraud… It’s a scam. It’s fake money. And it’s coming to an end.”
Salinas believes Bitcoin, alongside gold, is the only real hedge for savers trying to preserve purchasing power. He claims that central banks are using digital currencies and inflation as tools to tighten control and quietly siphon wealth from the public.
“The sooner we get illustrated by Bitcoin, the bigger it gets. This is the beginning of a new era — and the faster you wake up, the better off you’ll be.”
With his new book The Bitcoin Enlightenment now available, Salinas isn’t just making financial arguments—he’s painting Bitcoin as a moral movement against economic manipulation and political overreach.

Whether or not people act on his advice, one thing is clear: Salinas is all-in on Bitcoin, and he’s not looking back.
