Solana has achieved a groundbreaking milestone in decentralized finance (DeFi), surpassing Ethereum and its Layer-2 scaling solutions in weekly decentralized exchange (DEX) volume. The platform recorded an impressive $41 billion in weekly activity, setting a new benchmark in on-chain trading and establishing itself as a dominant force in DeFi.
New Highs for DEX Volume
In addition to its weekly record, Solana hit $70 billion in monthly DEX volume, a new all-time high, with nearly two weeks left in November. This puts Solana on track to potentially surpass Ethereum and its Layer-2s in monthly volume, currently trailing by only $8 billion.
Raydium, Solana’s top DEX, contributed significantly to this performance, generating $27.67 billion in weekly volume and outperforming Uniswap’s $21.34 billion. Notably, Raydium operates solely on Solana, while Uniswap spans Ethereum Layer-2s and EVM-compatible networks like Binance Chain and Polygon.
Dominance Across the Market
Solana now accounts for 48% of daily DEX volume and 45% of all on-chain activity across hundreds of blockchains. This unprecedented share underscores the platform’s growing influence in decentralized trading and DeFi applications.
Price Surge Aligns with Ecosystem Growth
The surge in activity has boosted SOL’s price, which is nearing its all-time high and has reached a record level against Ethereum. These developments signal increasing investor confidence as Solana continues to outpace Ethereum in key DeFi metrics.
Solana’s sustained growth highlights its rising prominence in the blockchain space and its ability to compete with the industry’s largest players.
