Solana recently saw a major surge in on-chain transaction volume, reaching a record-breaking $224 billion in transfers within a single day—nearly three times the blockchain’s market cap of $76 billion. This significant boost appears to be driven by an extremely active wallet, possibly operated by an arbitrage bot using multiple accounts. Since early October, this wallet’s high-frequency transactions have likely led to a noticeable rise in Solana’s network transaction fees.
Since the October Breakpoint event, Solana has shown substantial growth, with key metrics underscoring its economic expansion:
- Real Economic Value: Reached $152 million, marking a 266% increase
- Network GDP: Increased to $300 million, up by 256%
- DEX Volume: Reached $85 billion, showing a 145% rise
Alongside the network’s overall growth, a major Solana whale has been strategically selling off large quantities of SOL. This whale, with approximately $87 million in realized gains, sold 92,000 SOL (worth about $14.58 million) in the past two hours alone. Since November 1, the total sell-off has reached 357,070 SOL, amounting to $58.54 million.
Current Whale Holdings Include:
- JitoSOL: 52,089 tokens, valued around $9.46 million
- SOL: 126,548 tokens, worth approximately $20.05 million
The intensified whale activity, coupled with the sharp rise in transaction volume, highlights increased liquidity and interest in the Solana ecosystem.
