After a brief pause in acquisitions, business intelligence firm Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) is gearing up to raise $2 billion through private debt offerings. The funds will be used to expand its Bitcoin holdings, reinforcing its position as one of the largest institutional holders of BTC.
The company intends to issue 0% Convertible Senior Notes due in 2030, available exclusively to institutional investors. Depending on demand, the offering could increase by an additional $300 million.
Beyond purchasing more Bitcoin, Strategy plans to allocate some of the proceeds to corporate operations. The company recently made headlines after shareholders approved a substantial increase in its authorized share count, a move seen as reinforcing its BTC-focused strategy.
Earlier this year, Strategy rebranded from MicroStrategy, unveiling a new Bitcoin-inspired logo. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has emphasized that rather than scaling back, the firm remains committed to doubling down on its Bitcoin-centric approach.
Additionally, Strategy has expressed interest in developing new Bitcoin-related technologies, including decentralized identity solutions leveraging Ordinals inscriptions. While details remain scarce, the initiative signals the firm’s ambition to expand Bitcoin’s utility beyond simple asset accumulation.
