Sui has officially rolled out Mysticeti v2, a next-generation consensus engine designed to make transactions faster, lighter, and more efficient. This upgrade refines how the Sui network processes data, significantly reducing latency while maintaining its flexible, ownership-based model.

Unlike the previous version, Mysticeti v2 merges transaction validation directly into the consensus layer. By removing redundant verification steps, the network now confirms transactions in less time and with fewer computational demands. The result is smoother performance and quicker finality, even under heavy network activity.
Another key improvement comes from the new Transaction Driver system, which replaces the old submission path. Instead of broadcasting every transaction to all validators, it now sends it to a single validator that coordinates certification. This streamlined approach lowers bandwidth and CPU usage while maintaining security and reliability.
Early rollout tests on nodes operated by Mysten Labs and partners have already shown noticeable latency improvements, particularly in regions like Asia and Europe. With node version 1.60, Mysticeti v2 becomes the default configuration across the network, setting a new standard for Sui’s scalability and real-time responsiveness.

This update pushes Sui closer to its vision of delivering a highly performant, decentralized environment capable of supporting fast, seamless digital interactions on a global scale.
