World Liberty Financial (WLF), a cryptocurrency initiative led by former U.S. President Donald Trump, has proposed utilizing the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Aave to advance its governance strategy. This move was revealed on October 9th, when WLF submitted a formal request to integrate with the Aave V3 protocol on the Ethereum mainnet. The goal is to leverage Aave’s lending and borrowing capabilities to enhance WLF’s offerings.
Liquidity Focus on Major Tokens
WLF’s strategy centers on providing liquidity for key assets, including ETH, WBTC, and stablecoins like USDC and USDT. This approach aims to increase liquidity within the Aave ecosystem while also boosting the adoption of DeFi applications. Users of WLF’s Aave V3 integration will have access to deposits in Ethereum and other significant assets, expanding the platform’s reach to a broader user base.
Revenue Sharing and Governance Involvement
In exchange for utilizing Aave’s infrastructure, WLF has offered the Aave DAO a share of its fees. The proposal outlines that Aave will receive 20% of the fees generated by WLF and 7% of WLF’s governance token, WLFI. This agreement also invites Aave DAO to participate in WLF’s governance, liquidity mining, and decentralization initiatives, further integrating both platforms.
Smart Contracts to Manage Revenue Distribution
To ensure transparency and prevent manipulation, WLF has suggested using a trustless smart contract for revenue sharing. This contract will operate similarly to Aave’s existing reserve factor model. WLF also aims to onboard assets that may not align directly with Ethereum, allowing for potential expansion into other asset classes and financial sectors.
Pending Approval and Future Plans
The governance proposal awaits votes from both the Aave DAO and the WLF community. If approved, it would represent a significant step forward for WLF in creating a more accessible DeFi platform. Additionally, WLF has shared its plans to develop the Scroll Network, signaling its intention to expand beyond Ethereum for DeFi solutions.
Leaked White Paper Reveals Platform Features
Though full details of the project remain under wraps, a leaked white paper sheds light on WLF’s proposed functionalities. The platform is expected to include features such as a digital wallet, credit lines, and opportunities to borrow, lend, and invest in cryptocurrencies. The white paper also reveals that WLF will be open-source and offer services akin to those provided by Dough Finance.
