World Liberty Financial (WLFI) is preparing to roll out its own debit card with direct Apple Pay integration, a move aimed at boosting real-world utility for its token.
According to co-founder Zak Folkman, the upcoming card will allow users to link their WLFI and USD1 wallets to Apple Pay, making crypto-to-fiat payments faster and easier. The debit card will also connect with a new retail app that combines peer-to-peer payments and trading features, giving WLFI holders more flexibility in daily transactions.
Folkman noted that the app is designed to feel like a mix of Venmo and Robinhood, bringing together simple payments and investment tools. The project has no plans to build its own blockchain, instead keeping technology-neutral while focusing on usability.
Despite recent market turbulence that pushed the WLFI price down to around $0.20, the team believes these product launches could strengthen long-term adoption. A recent community vote also supported using all liquidity fees for buybacks and burns, further aligning with WLFI’s growth strategy.
