Bitget has contributed $1.54 million to help families in Hong Kong recover from the deadly fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. The blaze, which broke out on November 26, is being described as one of the city’s most severe residential disasters in decades.
Funds Distributed Through Local Hong Kong Charities
To ensure full transparency, Bitget is channeling the donation through three well-established Hong Kong charities:
- Yan Chai Hospital will receive $640,000 for emergency care and rehabilitation.
- The Salvation Army Hong Kong is getting $450,000 to provide temporary housing, basic supplies, and short-term financial support.
- Po Leung Kuk will use $450,000 for counseling, mental-health services, and community recovery efforts.
These organizations are also coordinating with government agencies responsible for temporary shelters and damage inspections, aiming to stabilize affected families as quickly as possible.

Bitget Affirms Global Community Support
Bitget expressed condolences to all the families impacted by the tragedy and hopes the relief fund will ease the immediate pressure on those displaced. The exchange continues to grow worldwide, enhancing programs for users and creators and building visibility through collaborations, such as its partnership with footballer Julian Alvarez.
Investigations Ongoing After Fatal Fire
Authorities have confirmed 128 deaths, over 70 injuries, and more than 900 residents left homeless. Investigators are now evaluating renovation work, construction materials, and safety standards at the site. Search teams remain active, while public calls for stronger safety protocols across Hong Kong’s aging residential buildings continue to rise.
