Coinbase is rolling out a new Futures product that brings Wall Street’s top technology names together with digital asset exposure, marking a first in the U.S. market.
Set to launch on September 22, the “Mag7 + Crypto Equity Index Futures” combines the performance of the so-called “Magnificent Seven” tech giants, Coinbase’s own stock, and BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs. Each component carries equal weight, with the index rebalanced quarterly to keep allocations balanced.

The Magnificent Seven includes Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, NVIDIA, Meta, and Tesla. On the crypto side, exposure comes via BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), giving investors indirect access to the two largest digital assets by market cap.
Coinbase highlighted that no U.S.-listed derivative product has ever offered exposure to both equities and digital assets in the same Futures contract. The product is structured as monthly cash-settled contracts, with notional values tied to the index. MarketVector will serve as the official index provider.

The announcement follows Coinbase’s July launch of CFTC-regulated perpetual contracts in the U.S., which offered leverage on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. The company views the new equity index futures as “the next evolution of our product suite,” aimed at meeting investor demand for diversified access across markets.
Coinbase also said it plans to make the product available to retail investors through partner platforms in the near future, expanding beyond the initial institutional rollout.
