At Consensus 2025, Eric Trump made it clear he’s not just watching from the sidelines, he’s going head-to-head with the big players in Bitcoin. His new company, American Bitcoin, aims to carve out a dominant position by focusing on cheap, large-scale mining operations.

He didn’t shy away from the fact that Michael Saylor’s firm is leading the charge when it comes to accumulating Bitcoin. But his approach is different, while others are scooping up coins on the open market, he wants to produce them at the lowest cost possible.
“I think we’re going to accumulate a tremendous amount of Bitcoin, but I also want to be the one mining it by far the cheapest,”
he said during a panel discussion.
He pointed out that while major institutions are paying six figures for each BTC, his company aims to mine it at a fraction of the cost, around $37K to $38K per coin.
Eric Trump sees this strategy not just as a financial play, but a long-term race with high stakes.
“It’s a race to the top right now, and there are a lot of people running fast,”
he added.
“I promise you we are going to beat them in this marathon.”
Launched in early 2025, the company is still in its early stages, and so far hasn’t made public how much Bitcoin it holds. Meanwhile, MicroStrategy, Saylor’s firm, recently added over 13,000 BTC to its already massive stash, now totaling over half a million coins.
Despite being far behind in terms of total holdings, Eric Trump believes American Bitcoin can eventually outpace everyone else through efficient mining. The challenge? It’ll need serious capital, around $60 billion by some estimates, to catch up, and it also faces pressure from lawmakers over ethical and regulatory concerns tied to the Trump family’s crypto involvement.
But one thing is clear: Eric Trump is stepping into Bitcoin with big goals and even bigger ambition.
