Bitcoin Holdings Grow as Company Doubles Down
A Tokyo-listed firm has added another 160 BTC to its treasury, pushing its total Bitcoin holdings to 4,206 BTC. The latest purchase cost approximately 1.998 billion yen ($13.2 million), averaging 12.4 million yen ($82,680) per BTC.
A Week of Big Moves
This addition follows a flurry of Bitcoin-focused activity. Earlier this week, the company issued 2 billion yen ($13.3 million) in zero-interest bonds, with proceeds allocated for more Bitcoin purchases. Just a day later, it disclosed the acquisition of 696 BTC using funds from previously sold cash-secured put options.
Traditional Finance Meets Bitcoin Accumulation
The company has been scaling up its Bitcoin strategy since 2024, making it a core treasury asset and an official business line as of December. So far, it has invested roughly 54.3 billion yen ($359 million) in Bitcoin at an average price of 12.9 million yen ($85,300) per BTC.
This expansion has been backed by EVO FUND, supporting the company through zero-coupon bond issuances and stock acquisition rights.
Tracking Performance Through BTC Metrics
To offer better transparency, the company has introduced new tracking metrics, including BTC Yield, BTC Gain, and BTC ¥ Gain, measuring Bitcoin accumulation relative to share dilution and capital deployment. Last quarter, it posted a BTC Yield of 95.6%, with 3.9% already achieved in the first days of Q2.
With Bitcoin now making up a major part of its balance sheet, the company is emerging as one of the most aggressive corporate BTC holders globally. While some see similarities to MicroStrategy’s approach in the U.S., its strategy is tailored to the Japanese market, blending traditional finance tools with a firm bet on digital assets.
