Concerns Over Forced Selling May Be Overstated
Fears that Strategy could be forced to unload large amounts of Bitcoin during a major market downturn may be misplaced, according to BTCTOP CEO Jiang Zhuoer.
In a recent post on X, Jiang said he does not expect Strategy to become a significant seller, even if Bitcoin falls to $30,000. He argued that the company’s reputation as a long-term Bitcoin holder is too valuable to jeopardize.
“I don’t think Strategy will substantially net sell BTC.”
Bitcoin Holdings Remain the Core Strategy
Jiang believes Strategy’s debt levels would remain manageable even under a sharp Bitcoin correction. He estimated that the company’s leverage ratio would rise to around 10%, a level he considers far from critical.
He also noted that Strategy has several options to meet financial obligations without abandoning its long-term Bitcoin accumulation plan.
Small Sale Sparks Debate
The discussion comes after Strategy sold 32 Bitcoin in late May, raising roughly $2.5 million. While the amount was tiny compared to its overall holdings, the transaction drew attention because of the company’s long-standing commitment to holding Bitcoin.
Strategy currently owns more than 843,000 Bitcoin, making it one of the largest corporate holders of the asset.
Funding Questions Remain
Some analysts have warned that weaker share prices and higher financing costs could make it harder for Strategy to continue buying Bitcoin at the same pace. However, Jiang maintains that the company still has enough flexibility to navigate a deeper market pullback without making large-scale sales.
For now, he sees Strategy’s commitment to Bitcoin remaining firmly intact, even if prices face further pressure.
