Key Points

  • VanEck has taken its final pre-launch action for its spot Solana ETF.
  • Trading could begin as early as today, depending on regulatory clearance.
  • Existing Solana ETFs have now logged 13 straight days of inflows.

VanEck Files Its Final 8-A as Launch Window Opens

VanEck has officially submitted a Form 8-A to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for its upcoming Solana ETF. This type of filing typically appears right before an ETF goes live, often signaling that the product may begin trading the very next session.

If regulators give the green light in time, the new Solana ETF could start trading as soon as today, a clear sign that VanEck aims to be early in offering U.S. investors broader access to Solana.

This move follows an amended S-1 submitted earlier, where VanEck outlined a 0.30% management fee and detailed its staking plans, including the use of SOL staking strategies designed to help the fund generate yield for holders.

Despite broader market uncertainty and ongoing government gridlock, interest in new crypto ETFs hasn’t slowed. Among them, Solana continues to stand out as one of the most in-demand assets.

Solana ETF Inflows Hit 13 Consecutive Days

Fresh market data shows that Solana ETFs recorded their 13th day in a row of net inflows, adding roughly $1.49 million on Thursday. Bitwise’s product took the lead during the session, while another major issuer saw flat activity for the day.

Since late October, when the first major Solana ETF began trading, the two active spot funds have accumulated a combined $370 million in inflows. Nearly $200 million poured in during the first week alone, a figure analysts say far exceeded early predictions.

Research analyst Nick Ruck noted that demand for SOL-focused ETFs has been significantly stronger than expected, calling them a “high-beta complement” to the larger BTC and ETH funds. According to him, these ETFs give institutions a more direct way to tap into the rapidly expanding Solana ecosystem.

Market Reaction and Additional Developments

Solana’s price, however, has been under pressure. SOL is trading near $143, down around 6% on the day, despite maintaining a sizable $79 billion market cap.

In another update that caught institutional attention, Grayscale has opened options trading for its Solana Trust (GSOL). This feature allows more sophisticated hedging and strategic trading around Solana exposure, something many professional traders have been waiting for.
