The U.S. SEC is poised to make a final call on the Canary Litecoin ETF by May 5, with analysts forecasting a 90% chance of approval as the price of LTC shows strength, eyeing a target of $500.
Key Points:
- Analysts give the Litecoin ETF a strong 90% chance of approval, a stark contrast to other altcoin ETFs.
- Litecoin has recently broken through its long-standing resistance, trading close to $87.
- Analyst Crypto Patel highlights a strong accumulation phase between $65 and $85, setting price targets of $255 and $500 in the short term.
The SEC is expected to finalize its decision on the Canary Litecoin ETF by May 5, as Litecoin’s price experiences a surge in daily trading volumes, up 31% to over $338 million. James Seyffart, an ETF strategist at Bloomberg, mentioned that, while the SEC has delayed decisions on various crypto ETFs, the Canary Litecoin ETF is still under review.

Litecoin ETF Approval Likely
Seyffart highlighted that, unlike other altcoins such as XRP, Solana, and Cardano, Litecoin has a higher chance of ETF approval due to its unique qualities and regulatory history. Analysts put the approval odds for Litecoin at 90%, compared to 85% for XRP and others. Dogecoin and Cardano ETFs are also seen as strong contenders, with approval odds of 80% and 75%, respectively. Polkadot, HBAR, and Avalanche ETFs have competitive approval chances, all hovering around 75%-80%.
However, Seyffart believes that a delay for Litecoin’s ETF approval remains a possibility, urging market participants to stay tuned. As the SEC works through the regulatory challenges surrounding crypto ETFs, Bitcoin ETF demand is seeing a resurgence, with strong inflows in the past week.
Analysts Set Price Targets for LTC
Crypto analyst Patel predicts that Litecoin is primed for a breakout after recently surpassing multi-year resistance. Following several months of consolidation, Litecoin’s bullish momentum has been picking up, and the price is currently hovering around $87.
Patel notes that Litecoin has moved past the $65-$85 accumulation range and sets short-term price targets at $255 and $500. Long-term projections for LTC range from $1,000 to over $1,400.
“Though it has tested investors’ patience, Litecoin is on the verge of a major move,”
Patel said, emphasizing the potential for a sharp rise in the current bull market. The approval of the Litecoin ETF could act as a catalyst for the upcoming rally.
