Sol Strategies Targets U.S. Market With Nasdaq Move and Massive Solana Holdings
A Canadian blockchain investment firm is making bold moves to deepen its footprint in the U.S. by applying to list its shares on the Nasdaq. Sol Strategies, already trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange, is preparing for its next chapter as it aligns with the Solana ecosystem.
Solana Holdings Top 420K as Expansion Plans Heat Up
With over 420,000 SOL tokens under management, Sol Strategies is signaling its long-term commitment to the Solana network. The company is now taking steps to have its shares publicly traded in the U.S. under the ticker “STKE,” according to recent SEC filings. While the Nasdaq application is still pending approval, it reflects a growing trend of crypto-native firms moving toward mainstream markets.

The firm plans to maintain its Canadian corporate structure, allowing it to bypass some of the more stringent U.S. governance rules. This includes not being required to have a board majority made up of independent directors or forming certain committees typically expected of American-listed companies.
Solana’s Role in the Company’s Strategy
Sol Strategies isn’t just investing in digital assets—they’re building around Solana. The blockchain’s performance in tokenization, DeFi, and validator infrastructure has positioned it as a cornerstone in the firm’s outlook.
Back in April, Sol Strategies secured a $500 million convertible note agreement with ATW Partners. That funding, linked to SOL’s performance, is being deployed to acquire and stake more Solana tokens using the firm’s own validator setup.
Shelf Filing Opens Door for $1 Billion Raise
The company also filed a preliminary prospectus in Canada in late May, enabling it to raise up to $1 billion over time through a mix of equity and debt offerings. Though no immediate fundraising is planned, it gives Sol Strategies ample room to scale its operations or invest further in the Solana ecosystem.

On-Chain Equity in the Works?
In another noteworthy step, the firm entered into an MOU with Superstate to explore the idea of issuing tokenized shares on Solana. If successful, this could mark one of the first efforts to bridge public equity with on-chain ownership—a potential game-changer in how stocks are issued and traded.
Sol Strategies continues to bet big on Solana, and its roadmap signals that it sees a future where traditional finance and blockchain can live side-by-side—on-chain.
